Elvis Smoothie

Good morning! No, I am not an Elvis fan!

My husband and I have been drinking fruit smoothies for about a month. We have one for breakfast and supper. I am concerned with getting TOO much fruit (carbs - sugar) So, I have tried, this week, doing a protein one for breakfast.

This morning, I was craving Elvis toast for breakfast. If you don't know what that is, they say he liked banana and peanut butter on toast. I did not know that and I made toast like that for a friend once and she exclaimed, "Oh, Elvis toast!" When I make mine, I include honey and cinnamon.

I started with 1 cup of milk, added our 'the mix'*, then a half a banana, 1 t. peanut butter, cinnamon, and honey. Blended it and it was yummy!

* - the mix = uncooked oatmeal, nuts, cinnamon

Christmas Acrostic by Belinda Jo Adams  written12-18-03

C = Christ - Of course, the most obvious and important, is Christ.
Isaiah 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be
upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The
everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Luke 2:11  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the
Lord.
H = home - most people want to be home for Christmas;  to be with family and old
acquaintances, which is a nice place to be. But, others cannot and the people around them
become their family at that time.
Proverbs 27:20 ... better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
R = ringing of the bells. The ringing of bells have been a proclamation through the years of
important events. Some villages used to ring them, and may still do, for births, marriages and
deaths of the people in their village. There are only 3 verses in the Bible that mention bells.
Two have to do with the priests robes and the other is on a horse, I assume, at end times.
Exodus 39:26  A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, round about the hem of
the robe to minister in; as the LORD commanded Moses.
I = icicles = and all the other things that sparkle at Christmas to remind us of the faithfulness
of God. Like; streetlights reflecting off the snow, lights on trees, glow of children's eyes God
wants us to enjoy His creation.
James 1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the
Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
S = star Most people either put a star or an angel at the top of their Christmas tree. Both were
important emblems of the first Christmas night.
Matthew 2:10  When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
T = tree . Much controversy among Christians surrounds the displaying of a Christmas tree.
And the controversy seems to change over the years as to whether it is right or wrong. But,
whether right or wrong, Christmas trees are beautiful and, as anything else, can either be
used to remind us of the true Christmas or hide that reminder when we are more involved in
getting and giving. Jesus gave His life for us and was hung on a tree ... or cross.
Acts 5:30  The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
M = Manger Scene When I was in the junior high school, there was a church in our town that
had a full sized manger scene that they put up each year. I was always amazed at it. I hope
they don't ever erase that action from our society.
Luke 2:12  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling
clothes, lying in a manger.
A = angels. The angels at Jesus birth sang hallelujah and announced the birth the Saviour
Child.
Luke 3:13,14 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising
God, and saying,  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And because of Christ's coming and then later giving His life for us, there is joy in Heaven at
the time of each person's acceptance of that gift.
Luke 15:10  Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one
sinner that repenteth.
S = silent night. Silent Night, Holy Night was written in the 1800's by a priest who needed a
song for his congregation to sing because their organ was broken and they could not sing their
regular carols. He wrote it and another priest wrote the music. The congregation sang it that
Christmas with the use of a guitar. They only planned for the song to be for them at their own
church. But, through time, it has become one of the most favorite Christmas carols. I heard
the other day, that it could not have been a silent night, though, with all those angels singing
their hallelujahs!
