Yesterday for Valentine’s Day, we didn’t do much besides say, “Happy Valentine’s Day.” Why? Well for one reason, we have 364 other days a year to show our love to each other and really don’t go all out for the day anyway, but I usually try to do something like take down our special cups or make a heart shaped cake … or something. But, with the stress of caretaking for his mom this week, we just let it slide. Well, I did make spaghetti and told them that was their red for Valentine’s Day. Ha!

Anyway, it got me to thinking about all the people out there that this ‘day of love’ just makes them sad or depressed. And I prayed for them and wondered why there has to be a day so publicized that it makes a whole group of people distressed. If you are one of those people, just remember, true love is of God and all the worldly shows of love are just people’s attempts to show affection. God loves each one of us much more than we can ever express to Him or each other! And HE loves you!

John 3: 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
